Production Inventory Manager (temp to hire)
Our client, a major local contractor of meats and gourmet delicatessen products to the food service industry in New York City, is looking for an Production Inventory Manager.
Job Duties:
- Create and manage purchase orders, verifying costs and quantities
- Conduct daily and weekly inventory counts; communicate variances with the team
- Review period-end inventory counts and perform recounts when necessary
- Track yields of emulsion and artificial casing using Excel
- Report major variances in yields to production managers and communicate Bill of Materials (BOM) changes as needed
- Review daily production documents and collaborate with production teams to ensure BOMs are accurate
- Process manufacturing orders for emulsions, finished goods, and x-ray rejected products
- File Safe Quality Food (SQF) documents and record customer complaints
- Conduct fat analysis on all received raw meat and on daily emulsions using the Foss machine
- Create and distribute reports based on analysis, and inform the General Manager when raw meat is out of specification
- Generate daily production reports and order office supplies as needed
- Monitor raw materials on the production floor and identify any waste
- Create disposition forms for waste when necessary
- Generate a weekly shelf life report for short-dated finished goods
- Email the report to the Distribution and Accounting teams and provide a printed copy to the General Manager
- Routinely walk around the plant on a daily basis
- Accurately count inventory
Requidrements:
- Diligence in addressing all inventory-related matters
- Must possess strong critical thinking skills and a good understanding of the production process
- Previous experience in inventory management with in the food industry is required
